“Social Justice” in Times of Crisis

As part of the series of monthly seminars launched last June, the Middle East Council of Churches invites you to participate in its second webinar entitled "Social Justice in Time of Crisis", on Thursday 25 August 2022, at 7 p.m.

This webinar comes within the framework of the “Human Dignity Project” as part of the Dialogue and Social Cohesion-Social Capital Rehabilitation Programs. You can participate in it through the following link: https://bit.ly/3T7PQNv.

Hence, the webinar will begin with an opening note from the MECC Secretary General Dr. Michel Abs, and will include two sessions on the topic at hand, moderated by Dr. Chawki Attieh.

The first session is entitled “Towards Social Justice in the Arab Countries: The Role of Decent Work Opportunities and Comprehensive Social Protection Systems”, with Dr. Mary Kaawar, Former Minister of Planning and International Cooperation in Jordan, and Former Director for East Africa at The ILO.

As for the second session, it will focus around “The Financial and Monetary Crisis and The Elements of Social Resilience”, with Dr. Bashir El Murr, Head of Economic Sciences Department at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the Lebanese University.
