Professional Tool Kits Offered to Outstanding Students in Vocational Training Courses

Under the patronage of Reverend Dr. Haroutian Souleiman, head of the Armenian Church in Syria, the Armenian Protestant Church, and in cooperation with the Middle East Council of Churches, held a graduation ceremony for the participants in the professional courses organized in Aleppo Governorate, with the presence of the President of the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce Amer Hamwi.

During the ceremony, professional tool kits were distributed to 87 outstanding beneficiaries of the professional courses in order to help them start their own businesses.

President of the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce Amer Hamwi delivered a speech in which he mentioned that small and medium-sized businesses contribute in the economic growth. He also added that youth can support the national economy by participating in professional courses in various fields and specializations. Hamwi declared that the Chamber supports all projects implemented by youth, and which contributes in building a better tomorrow for the Syrians.

 

During 2 months, 120 young men and women participated in vocational courses related to 14 different professions, including: women's hairdressing, make-up art, sewing, men's hairdressing, computer maintenance, mobile maintenance, photography and editing…

The Armenian Protestant Church in Aleppo and the Middle East Council of Churches Syria’s office followed up and evaluated all the courses, and the participants received professional certificates. Noting that 102 outstanding participants enrolled in a six-day business administration course, during which they learned how to start a small business.

It is worth mentioning that the Middle East Council of Churches implements vocational courses for youth in many Syrian governorates, as part of a vocational training program aimed at helping youth enter the labor market and start their own business.
