International Day for the Abolition of Slavery - 2 December

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3)

On the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery we join the UN Secretary-General António Guterres in calling on “Governments and societies to recommit to eradicating slavery. Increased action needs to be taken with full participation of all stakeholders, including the private sector, trade unions, civil society and human rights institutions.” He also urges “all countries to protect and uphold the rights of victims and survivors of slavery.”
