From the Prayer of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Catholic Church:
O Jesus, show us your love. We all love you. We desire that your heart, the heart of the Good Shepherd, protect us. Enter every heart! Knock on the doors of our hearts! Be patient, be tough with us. We are still closed to ourselves, because we have not understood your will. Knock relentlessly, Jesus, and make our hearts open to you, at least as we remember the pains you endured for us, Amen.
