HIGHLIGHTS
In GoS-controlled areas of the country,(as of 30 January), the Syrian Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 13998 Laboratory-confirmed cases, 916 fatalities, and 7481 Recoveries.
13998 laboratory-confirmed cases have been reported by the Syrian MoH : 2698 in Damascus; 2208 in Homs; 2135 in Aleppo; 1730 in Lattakia; 1424 in Rural Damascus; 1056 in Tartous; 924 in Dar’a; 835 in Sweida; 648 in Hama; 240 in Quneitra; 58 in Deir-Ez-Zor; 35 in Al-Hasakeh and 7 in Ar-Raqqa.
The Council approved Syria’s accession to the “Kovacs” initiative through the World Health Organization and mandated the Ministry of Health to take the necessary measures in this regard while continuing negotiations with friendly countries to draw up the vaccine and secure it for citizens, stressing the strictness in the measures taken to confront the Coronavirus.[2]

o 20,939 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed despite a reduction in new cases, the number of deaths associated with COVID-19 increased by some 46 percent to 380.
o 82,751 tests have been conducted to date, with 20,939 cases confirmed as of 25 January. 11,489 cases in the Idleb area and 9,450 in northern Aleppo governorate.
o Three more hospitals were operationalized to treat COVID-19, bringing the total number of referral hospitals in northwest Syria to 12 (with 232 intensive care unit (ICU) beds and 908 regular beds).
o As of 25 January, the number of health care workers (HCWs) and health facilities staff (physicians, dentists, nurses, midwives and various medical technicians) who contracted COVID-19 disease reached 1,545 (7.4percent) and another 1129 (5.4percent) were other staff working in healthcare facilities or community health workers.

Highlights
During this reporting period, the average number of cases per day dropped to 3133.
The Ministry of Public Health reported that it had received one hundred and twenty-eight packs of the drug Ivermectin provided as a gift, provided that the Ministry would distribute the donation free of charge to patients according to a prescription from the treating doctor.
The Minister of Public Health convened with UNRWA representatives to revise a plan to vaccinate Palestinians.
The Ministry of Public Health launched the registration form for taking the Coronavirus vaccine on the website covax.moph.gov.lb, after launching the vaccination plan in Lebanon.
The Minister of Public Health arrived to an agreement with the World Bank to equip governmental hospitals. It will bring the total number of intensive care beds in government hospitals to 379 beds.
The Minister of Public Health referred both Saint Therese Hospital and Kabreshmoun Governmental Hospital to the Public Prosecution Office of Cassation, due to their refusal to receive two critically ill patients and to provide them with the necessary aid.
The Minister of Public Health decided to close a private medical laboratory in the Mazraa area - Beirut after the health observers in the ministry confirmed the validity of the complaints received about the issuance of results of PCR examinations in violation of medical principles.
Lebanese Health Dr. Minister Hamad Hassan announced that, it is possible within the next two weeks to control the rapid spread of the Corona pandemic.
