Psychosocial Support to Sow Hope Among Children
The Service and Relief Department – Diakonia, Beirut office at the Middle East Council of Churches organized 6 psychosocial support sessions for a group of children aiming at enhancing their abilities and developing their skills.
The Psychosocial sessions for children play a valuable role in promoting the well-being and resilience of children.
Participation in games and other recreational activities provides children opportunities to develop capacities and resources that can help them deal with the emotional, social, and practical challenges that they may face in their lives.
Children who participated in these sessions, learned to express themselves and built their self-esteem. They also discovered appropriate behaviors for interacting with their parents, siblings or others. It helps them reduce the physical and emotional aggression towards themselves and others.
This support program was achieved in cooperation with the international humanitarian organization Norwegian Church Aid - NCA, and was implemented in Our Lady Dispensary, affiliated to the Middle East Council of Churches and located in Sabtiyeh – Lebanon.
