New Update

Recently, the Interpol issued three international arrest notices or “Red Notices” for the owner and captain of a ship that brought 2,750 tons of explosive material.

Those named are Borys Prokoshew who is the captain of the ship and Igor Grechushkin, a Russian businessman and apparent owner of the MV Rhosus that brought the ammonium nitrate into Beirut in late 2013.

A notice was also issued for Portuguese national Jorge Moreira, who allegedly bought the explosive material from Georgian factory Rustavi Azot. According to state-run National News Agency, Jorge Moreira had visited warehouse where the material was stored back in 2014.

Internationally speaking, prosecutors just made a step forward in moving up the case to find answers. Hopefully, the interrogation and questioning of these individuals might give us the true identity of those that hold office in Lebanon.

Another good news, Judge Sawan will be resuming his investigation on January 25 when a harsh COVID-19 lockdown in Lebanon making him able to summon defendants or issue subpoenas.
