The family of the General Secretariat of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) gathered in Beirut for an amicable lunch, in recognition of the Honorary General Secretary, Dr. Souraya Bechealany, who left her position as Secretary General of the Council and handed it over to the new Secretary General, Dr. Michel Abs.

On the occasion, Dr. Abs offered her an icon of the Blessed Virgin as a token of gratitude and loyalty for all her sacrifices and efforts in order to uphold the status of the Council and its ecumenical mission. The team also offered her a special gift to express their love and their gratitude.
