The Feast of the Miraculous Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ Celebrated with a Pontifical Divine Liturgy

On Sunday, April 20, 2025, the Feast of the Miraculous Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ was celebrated with a pontifical Divine Liturgy at St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Antelias. Holiness Catholicos Aram I, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, Holy See of Cilicia, and Honorary President of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) delivered his pontifical message during the service.

Joining His Holiness at the altar were HE Arch. Moushegh Mardirossian and HG Bp. Dajad Ashekian. The Divine Liturgy was led by the “Shnorhali” choir, conducted by Fr. Zaven Rev. Najarian.

Among the attendees were the Minister of Youth and Sports in Lebanon, representatives from the Armenian Embassy, various state officials, and friends of the Catholicosate.

In his message, His Holiness stated that the resurrection of Christ represents divine intervention that conquers death. He emphasized humanity’s calling to participate in establishing God’s kingdom and the importance of overcoming sin and evil.

Following the Liturgy, the pontifical procession moved to the Veharan, the pontifical residence, where the congregation sang hymns together. The Catholicos blessed the faithful, proclaiming, “CHRIST HAS RISEN FROM THE DEAD. BLESSED IS THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST.”

Finally, he received Easter greetings from political leaders and the faithful in attendance in the main atrium of the Catholicosate.
